  Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to set up 500 EV charging stations in the public areas of the city. PMC has also selected locations for the set up of charging stations which includes municipal gardens, educational institutes, and main roads. PMC has issued tender for the same and private agencies too can bid on the setup. It plans to charge a minimal fee for charging vehicles and the amount earned will be used to maintain the stations. The implementation of the project will take place on a revenue-sharing basis.   The Ministry of Power has previously announced new EV charging infrastructure standards and guidelines. In compliance with the rules, the state government has fixed the ceiling cost of service charges to be charged by electric vehicle public charging stations.
