state electric vehicle policy KERALA Kerala's electric vehicle (EV) policy envisages an ambitious target of introducing one million EVs in the State by 2022. The State has planned a pilot fleet of 3,000 buses, 100 ferries, two lakh two-wheelers, 50,000 three-wheelers and 1,000 goods carriers. The State-run KAL plans to roll out 8,000 e-autos a year. It has also tied up with Swiss e-bus manufacturer HESS to assemble and later manufacture e-buses, for which a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to set up 500 EV charging stations

  Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to set up 500 EV charging stations in the public areas of the city. PMC has also selected locations for the set up of charging stations which includes municipal gardens, educational institutes, and main roads. PMC has issued tender for the same and private agencies too can bid on the setup. It plans to charge a minimal fee for charging vehicles and the amount earned will be used to maintain the stations. The implementation of the project will take place on a revenue-sharing basis. PMC will provide the required space for private owners to establish the stations and other arrangements can be made by the companies. Setting up new EV charging stations will boost the adoption of electric vehicles in the city of Pune.   The Ministry of Power has previously announced new EV charging infrastructure standards and guidelines. In compliance with the rules, the state government has fixed the ceiling cost of service charges to be charged by electric vehicle public charging stations.
