8th Electric Vehicle Expo spotlights that 2019 will be the start of E-Rickshaw and E-Bikes Era for India evexpo electric charging electricvehicles cuepen It was groundbreaking experience for the last two & half days speaking with representatives of many companies exhibiting at 8th India expo held at New Delhi, 21st to 23rd, 2018. Most of the local and international companies exhibited eRickshaws, eAutos, and eBikes in line with Govt.’s objective to convert these vehicle-categories to E-vehicles sooner. Most of these vehicles are planned to be launched in Q3/Q4 of 2019. Further there were ample number of Indian companies exhibiting Lithium battery packs and solutions offered for integration to EV manufacturers. Many vehicles were showcased with lithium batteries, offering right prices to users. Glad to see the faster adoption of Lithium batteries replacing the dominant lead acid batteries. Additionally, there were many ancillary suppliers as well as the ready-to-retrofit solution providers for converting existing vehicles to Electric vehicles. Nevertheless, there were hardly any display of E-Cars and E-buses. Only Mahindra and BYD displayed their vehicles at expo. Overall, the event highlighted that the era of E-rickshaws and E-Bikes will begin from 2019 in India.

state electric vehicle policy KERALA Kerala's electric vehicle (EV) policy envisages an ambitious target of introducing one million EVs in the State by 2022. The State has planned a pilot fleet of 3,000 buses, 100 ferries, two lakh two-wheelers, 50,000 three-wheelers and 1,000 goods carriers. The State-run KAL plans to roll out 8,000 e-autos a year.
